OpenAI discloses its number of ChatGPT for Enterprise customers to date
January 12 2024
OpenAI’s ChatGPT for Enterprise launched in late August 2023 has attracted over 260 business customers and more than 150,000 users, showcasing the considerable demand for OpenAI’s large language model-powered chatbots in the corporate sector. Even though some businesses are cautious about AI due to potential issues with data privacy and model reliability, they seem to prefer the convenience and support of OpenAI’s enterprise solutions over labor-intensive open-source options like Meta’s Llama 2 and Mistral’s Mixtral. While the exact pricing for the service is not disclosed, it contributes significantly to OpenAI’s revenue, and notable clients were revealed in a recent blog post. The success of this offering is evident as OpenAI also introduced a new, cheaper subscription tier—ChatGPT Team—aimed at small-to-medium-sized businesses, providing them with an appealing alternative to the more resource-heavy open-source AI models.
