Stability AI is a company that offers pre-trained AI foundation models like Stable Diffusion (for image generation), StableLM (for text generation), and StableCode (for code generation).

Some of these models power Stability AI’s graphic editors called StableStudio and ClipDrop, available as software-as-a-service.

Stability AI offers its models as a free download under various open access licenses. The AI community has built multiple free user interfaces to use Stability AI models: Stable Diffusion WebUI, InvokeAI, SD.Next, ComfyUI, and others.

Stability AI also offers customized versions of its models for paying customers, directly and via a partnership with AWS (through a service called Bedrock).
